The governing body of Outagamie County operates from the Outagamie County Government Center at 320 South Walnut Street, Appleton, WI 54911. An elected county executive is the chief executive officer of the county responsible for coordinating and directing all administrative and management functions. An elected 36-member board of supervisors is responsible for policy and budget oversight functions.

Department heads are appointed by the county executive, subject to the approval of the board of supervisors. The county executive also appoints members to the county’s boards and commissions. The county executive sets the annual budget in consultation with and subject to the approval of the board of supervisors.

The current county executive is Tom Nelson. He is up for re-election in the April 2023 Spring General Election. His opponent is Kevin Sturn. Jeff Nooyen is Chairperson of the board of supervisors. Dan Gabrielson is Vice-Chairperson. Kyle Sargent, corporation counsel, is Parliamentarian.
