19th Senate District Update: April 11, 2025

Happy Friday!

This week, I was able to meet down in Madison with the Medical College of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Radiological Society, Wisconsin Hospital Association, Wisconsin Nurses Association, and Wisconsin Board of Nursing to discuss budget priorities and important legislation for this session. We made progress on several critical proposals that will increase access and affordability for patients and providers alike.

I was also able to participate at the Wisconsin Nurses Conference down in Madison. It was good to hear from and interact with fellow nurses, administrators, and other hospital and clinical staff. We discussed challenges and opportunities for improvements in patient care and administration, including different ways to support the nurse preceptors training the next generation of nurses!

We were also happy to meet with the:

  • Wisconsin Diaper Bank Coalition about ways to boost their reach.
  • Medical College of Wisconsin about expanding opportunities for medical residents.
  • Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association about how to boost tourism in our area.
  • Community Action Program Association regarding the many services they offer to support community members.
  • Wisconsin Radiological Society about how to better detect breast cancer earlier.
  • National Association of Social Workers regarding their budget priorities for the session.
  • Wisconsin Hospital Association for their advocacy day down in Madison.
  • Wisconsin Land Title Association about proposals streamlining the title process.
  • Wisdom Wisconsin about prison reform.
  • Central Wisconsin Days for their advocacy day down in Madison.
  • Wisconsin Nurses Association and DSPS about ways to better support nurse educators in the community.
