Appleton City Council Update: February 8, 2026

The Utilities Committee of the Appleton City Council will consider approving a contract for native vegetation management and will discuss a proposed new "Adopt-a-Pond Program." This is a proposed new program in which "participants 'adopt' one or more of the City's stormwater ponds to conduct routine cleanups, provide visual inspections, and support environmental stewardship throughout the community." 

Speakers: Trafficking is a $236 Billion-a-Year Industry

Fox Valley Initiative (FVI) held its monthly public forum on January 5, 2026 at Freedom Project Academy in Appleton, discussing the Damascus Road Project and trafficking. The main speakers at the Jan. 5 forum were Kelly Olson with Damascus and an investigator with the Oshkosh Police Department.

Report on October Meeting with the Mayor

On October 21, 2025, several representatives of Appleton Concerned Taxpayers (ACT) met with Appleton Mayor Jake Woodford. We discussed several items of concern with respect to the city budget, including questions about wastewater and stormwater expenses in the 2026 budget and debt service increases. We also discussed the "Stop the Noise" project and other non-budget-related matters.

A Door-Knocking Conversation

In the end, we agreed that we had different political views and that they wouldn’t sign my paperwork. We wished each other a Merry Christmas and shook hands. I left the conversation stating that this was why I had a Charlie Kirk sign. We were able to have a frank exchange of ideas, not get upset with each other and still part on good terms.

4th Assembly District Update: February 13, 2026

AB 682 passed the Wisconsin Assembly, making modest increases to non-resident hunting and fishing license fees to generate an estimated $5 million annually. The Fish and Wildlife Account of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources finances resource management to support hunters and anglers in Wisconsin by protecting and providing access to land.

Fraud Waiting to Happen

It is going to be up to the voters to secure verifiable elections for Wisconsin. We must keep the pressure on Tiffany and other Republican candidates to resolve this problem and remain undeterred by those who are trying to tell us our election system is just fine the way it is. We will use the truth as a weapon against their lies because yes, in fact, the Wisconsin election system is a fraud waiting to happen. It most likely already has.

Maria Lazar Discusses April 7 State Supreme Court Election

Fox Valley Initiative hosted Judge Maria Lazar, who is a conservative running for State Supreme Court in the April 7 election. The winner of the April 7 election will replace the retiring Rebecca Bradley, a conservative justice.  At present the liberal-leaning justices have a 4-3 edge on the court and would take a 5-2 edge if the liberal candidate Chris Taylor wins the election.
