COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: The City of Manawa celebrated its 150th anniversary this past week! The city has a rich history along the Little Wolf River and is a resilient and hardworking community.
Back in 1874, the name “Manawa” was designated by the community after previously being referred to as “Elberton” when Elbert Scott was Postmaster. Through its 150 years, Manawa has been home to major employers and small businesses alike, and most importantly the hardworking folks who live there. After the flooding last month, the community came together as neighbors to help each other rebuild. As the recovery efforts continue, I am confident Manawa has a great future ahead (and hopefully another 150 years).
Lastly, as you may have heard, Wisconsin has primaries and elections coming up this year! You can find what’s on your ballot, how to find out when and where to vote, and more at MyVote.wi.gov.
Next week, I look forward to many more meetings in our area!
