Hello! I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It’s always great to share a meal and spend time with your loved ones. With Thanksgiving now behind us, this marks the countdown to Christmas.
The holiday season is in full swing with the drop in temperature, Christmas trees, garlands, and lights a glow. Yesterday, the Capitol Christmas tree was lit for the first time this year. Ornaments on the tree have been submitted by children throughout Wisconsin. This year’s theme celebrates the 125th anniversary of Wisconsin’s state parks.
I wanted to thank the Wolf River Area Patriots for letting me join their town hall before Thanksgiving. It was a great opportunity to discuss updates from this session and priorities for the next.
I also was able to participate in the Wisconsin County Human Services Association’s legislative panel at their Stevens Point event. It was a good opportunity to catch up with our local human services departments and helped set the stage for priorities going into the next budget.
I also want to highlight a resource the University of Wisconsin Law School’s Consumer Law Clinic is offering called the Garnishment Relief Project. This project offers free legal assistance to those navigating the wage garnishment process. Click the link above to learn more.
