Ramping Up

Hello! This week was yet another busy one as the session continues to ramp up down in Madison.

We discussed potential improvements and requested investments in home and community-based services. As more and more people opt to remain at home and staffing shortages in long-term care facilities remain persistent, this will be an increasingly critical part of our aging infrastructure.

I also had the opportunity to meet with two of the commissioners on the Public Service Commission. These folks play an important role in regulating our state’s gas, water, and electric utilities.

I also had meetings this week that revolved around the topic of education. We connected with Transfr, a business that integrates virtual reality in the classroom, and the FIRST Robotics Team to discuss technological advances inside and outside of our schools. [And hundreds of School Choice Week supporters visited the State Capitol!]

This weekend don’t forget about the Special Olympics Polar Plunge taking place in Oshkosh! This event supports the more than 1400 athletes of Special Olympics Wisconsin. There are still volunteer opportunities for those who wish to participate. Click here if you would like to know more.

My staff and I were happy to meet with:

  • Wisconsin Hospitals Association
  • Wisconsin Association for Home Health Care, Inc
  • FIRST Robotics Team 2826
  • Transfr
  • Wisconsin Music Educators Association
  • Wisconsin Association of Family & Children’s Agencies
  • Public Service Commission of Wisconsin
  • Municipal Electric Utilities of Wisconsin
  • Wisconsin Early Childhood Association
  • Wisconsin Wetlands Association
