19th Senate District Update: July 20, 2025

Hello, I hope you had a good week!

This week, the Senate held a floor session to vote on a wide range of bills. These include two bills I authored to ensure meaningful access for our military recruiters entering schools and increasing families’ access to the Alzheimer’s Family and Caregiver Support Program. I’m proud that the legislature also passed the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Modernization Act to empower educated and experienced nurses looking to open their own practices in underserved areas. This has been over a decade in the making, but it finally passed unanimously and the governor is finally in a place to make it law!

The Senate also passed proposals on school safety grants, grants to child advocacy centers, psychiatric and health-related bills, delivery network couriers benefits, and public safety bills.

We were able to meet with quite a few people as well, including folks from the Wisconsin EMS Association, local school district staff and businesses, folks from the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association, and the Wisconsin Towns Association. In these meetings, we discussed working through potential solutions to get first responder legislation over the finish line, legislative priorities for our veterinarians, and working through potential solutions to expand in-person absentee voting hours in our towns.

I hope you enjoy your weekend!
