I was proud to speak on behalf of patients and providers alike on a proposal to lower costs and increase health care access! Read more about it here.
Happy Friday! It was a busy week. The senate held its first floor session on Tuesday, where we voted on 3 bills I’ve authored: creating the legal framework for direct primary care (helping patients), helping counties fulfill their public health responsibilities, and streamlining the death pronouncement process. All three bills passed the senate and will now be sent to the assembly.
I was also able to attend the annual “State of the Tribes” address, delivered by Thomas Fowler, tribal chair of the St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin. This address helps give legislators insight into the priorities of our many tribal nations right here in Wisconsin.
We also had quite a few other meetings down in Madison and around our area. This included important discussions around priorities for our local pharmacists, assisted living facilities, and local YMCAs. Thank you to everyone who made the trek down!
Also, thank you to everyone who was able to join at my listening session in Waupaca last night! It was great hearing from folks about some of the challenges and opportunities they are facing and ways I can help down in Madison.
Hope to see folks around at the New Dublin celebrations and parade tomorrow!
