Happy Easter!
Happy Easter! This week was a busy one. I was happy to continue meeting with local officials across to the 19th Senate District and the governor signed another bill I was proud to lead the fight on.
Senate Bill 722, now Act 229, will help ensure that correctional officers are not overwhelmed by inmates experiencing active episodes of psychosis. By moving these inmates out of our overwhelmed prisons and into secure treatment facilities, we can help alleviate the pressure on officers and staff alike.
This week I also had the pleasure of speaking to the Boy Scouts as they came to the Capitol for their annual Scout Report to the State. As a mother of Eagle Scouts, I am a firm believer in the ability for Scouting to improve lives and produce future leaders.
Also, don’t forget to vote next week on Tuesday, April 2nd!
My staff and I were also happy to meet with:
- Winnebago County Executive’s Office
- Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office
- Waupaca Police Department
- Weyauwega Fire Department
- Scouts of America
Next week, I look forward to many more meetings in our area!
