Hello! I hope you had a nice Mother’s Day! This week, the Senate held a floor session to vote on several bills. A lot of them revolved around public safety priorities and ways to improve our court system. Read more here.
The Assembly Health Committee held a public hearing this week, where one of the bills I authored was heard. The proposal would increase financial eligibility for the Alzheimer’s family and caregiver support program (Senate Bill 152), increasing access to allow more Wisconsin families to have better financial flexibility when taking care of their loved ones.
The Assembly Education Committee also held a public hearing this week, where one of the bills I authored was heard. The bill would prohibit schools from providing food containing harmful additives in our school meals. (Senate Bill 228). Our children are our future, and they deserve high-quality food that will help them stay healthy as they develop.
We were also happy to meet with the:
- Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources, Inc., about budget priorities for this session.
- Feonix – Mobility Rising about their work to improve transportation access to healthcare, employment, and essential services across Wisconsin.
- Wisconsin Emergency Management Association (WEMA)Â about budget priorities this session.
- AARP about supporting their legislative initiatives.
