19th Senate District Update: May 2, 2025

Happy Friday!

I hope you and your family took advantage of having the 2025 NFL Draft right in our backyard last week – it brought in over 600,000 people to the Fox Valley and Northeast Wisconsin!

This week, I was happy to tour and meet with the folks at Fox Valley Technical College Waupaca Campus. It was great to hear from staff and students about the work they are doing, as well as the challenges they face and how the legislature can help. We also visited the folks at the Waushara County Government Center. They work hard to keep Waushara County going and it was a pleasure to speak with them.

I was also able to meet down in Madison with the Wisconsin Association of School Nurses and Psychological Addiction Services to discuss budget priorities and important legislation for this session. We made progress on critical proposals that will increase access and affordability for patients and providers alike. I also met with two members of the Board of Regents for their confirmation process. We discussed their role on the board and UW System’s budget request.

The Wolf River was recently featured in National Geographic! Check it out.

We were also happy to meet with the:

  • Wisconsin Association of School Nurses about supporting their legislative initiatives.
  • Psychological Addiction Services about budget priorities this session.
  • Upwards about increasing access to child care for Wisconsin families.
  • Fox Cities CVB about how we can support tourism in the Fox Valley.
  • UW-Madison students about research funding and student financial aid.
  • Walmart about their priorities for this session.

Upcoming Listening Session!

I will be hosting a listening session with Representative Murphy on May 12th from 5:30-6:30 PM at the Black Creek Town Hall!

The address is N6051 Twelve Corners Road, Black Creek, WI 54106. Please join us!

Wisconsin State Sen. Rachael Cabral-Guevara met with representatives at the Waushara County Government Center.
