19th Senate District Update: May 30, 2025

Happy Friday! This week we had a packed schedule around our area and down in Madison.

It was an honor to attend the Waupaca VFW Memorial Day ceremony on Monday and pay tribute to our servicemen and women who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

I was also able to meet with our local Wisconsin Operating Engineers in Coloma this week. It was a great learning experience at their training center, where we discussed how safety, efficiency, and teamwork come together on projects (photos below).

On Wednesday, I drove down to Madison bright and early to continue discussing budget and legislative priorities with folks. It was also a very important day in the Senate Health Committee, where we heard proposals on Pharmacy Benefit Manager reform, the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Modernization Act, and Gail’s Law, which ensures that additional cancer screenings are covered by insurance for women with dense breast tissue.

Gail’s Law was fought for by a constituent from Neenah, Gail Zeamer, who passed away from her fight against breast cancer last year. Gail’s daughter, Sophie, honored her mom’s legacy on Wednesday by continuing the fight and testifying in favor of passing Gail’s Law, critical legislation that will save lives. You can read more about this proposal here.

It was also a pleasure to meet with the wonderful folks at Partnership Health and with the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs!

Wisconsin State Sen. Rachael Cabral-Guevara attended the Waupaca VFW Memorial Day service this weekend. Amazing work by the organizers honoring those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
