19th Senate District Update: November 22, 2024

Hello! Due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, we will not be publishing a new “Rachael Report” next week. I hope that you and your loved ones enjoy a joyful and safe Thanksgiving (and Black Friday, for those who celebrate)!

Happy Thanksgiving from Wisconsin State Sen. Rachael Cabral-Guevara.This week, my staff and I were happy to meet with some incredible folks around the district and in Madison.

We met with high school students from the state’s Career and Technical Education student organizations. These young folks from around our area have an amazing future ahead of them and they are setting a positive example for all of us!

I wanted to highlight a groundbreaking my staff was able to attend for a new assisted living facility in Clayton! CopperStone Assisted Living and Consolidated Construction brought together folks from the Fox Cities Chamber, the Wisconsin Assisted Living Association, and local leaders in Fox Crossing to celebrate this important addition to aging infrastructure right here in our area.

We were also able to meet with folks from the Wisconsin Nurses Association to discuss priorities for next session, the new Department of Children and Families Secretary-designee, and the Medical College of Wisconsin.

I also want to highlight a resource the University of Wisconsin Law School’s Consumer Law Clinic is offering called the Garnishment Relief Project. This project offers free legal assistance to those navigating the wage garnishment process. Click the link above to learn more.
