Happy Halloween!
This week, I was able to continue discussions on lowering health care costs, the Brewers deal, and the current non-partisan redistricting proposal. I was also happy to meet with Mayor Lang in Neenah to discuss important issues facing the community!
Public hearings were also held on three bills I authored:
- Assembly Bill 385: recognizing the veteran status of naturalized Hmong citizens on state ID cards.
- Assembly Bill 551: a bi-partisan bill protecting freedom of the press in our schools and universities.
- Assembly Bill 553: protecting student freedom of speech on our university campuses.
I am looking forward to advancing these bills through the legislative process as the fall session continues.

A Note from the Timber Rattlers on the Brewers Deal
We want to thank Sen. Rachael Cabral-Guevara for meeting with us to discuss the bill pending before the Senate on the Brewers Stadium bill. As the Class-A Affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, we take pride in bringing the future Brewers to the Appleton area and strongly support the pending legislation. We believe the use of income taxes gained from professional baseball players – both home and visiting players – to fund the maintenance of the State-owned stadium, consistent with the current lease, is a responsible way to fund repairs and maintenance at American Family Field. Further, we believe the Brewers willingness to contribute an additional $100 million to the stadium and extend their lease to 2050 ensures baseball stays in Wisconsin for the foreseeable future. We look forward to seeing you at the ballpark!
Craig Dickman, Chairman
I encourage folks to continue sharing their thoughts with my office on the Brewer Bill as it moves through the legislature.
Kindly,
Senator Rachael
