19th Senate District Update: September 13, 2024

Hello, I hope you are all enjoying your week so far! The year feels like it has flown by. Our kids headed back to school last week, and before you know it we’ll get our first snow fall.

This week, I want to bring to your attention to important updates on the I-41 expansion project between Appleton and De Pere. Click here to learn more about the I-41 project. Click here to learn more about other construction projects throughout Wisconsin.

Here are the projects traffic impacts this week:

  • Drivers can expect overnight reduced lanes on Northbound (NB) and Southbound (SB) I-41 in work zones.
  • NB and SB I-41 between Wisconsin Avenue (exit 138) and Richmond Street (exit 142) is scheduled to be CLOSED overnight Monday, September 16 from 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
  • The following ramps are also scheduled to close during the overnight I-41 closure:
    • NB I-41 entrance ramp from Wisconsin Avenue CLOSED 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
    • NB and SB I-41 entrance ramp from WIS 15 CLOSED 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
    • SB I-41 entrance ramp from Richmond Street CLOSED 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Capitol Drive over I-41 between N. Capitol Court and Northridge Lane is closed until fall 2024.
  • County N between Elm Drive and Patriot/Moasis drives is closed through mid-September 2024.
  • SB I-41 entrance and exit ramps at County N along with the County N bridge over I-41 will remain closed through late September 2024.
  • Rose Hill Road over I-41 between Fairlane Drive and E. Evergreen Drive is closed through late September 2024.
  • French/Southbridge roads are closed to through traffic from Creamery Road to Innovation Court through fall 2026.

As fall is right around the corner, I want to highlight the Fall Color Report from Travel Wisonsin. This interactive map helps identify when the leaves will be changing color throughout Wisconsin. The predicted peak color forecast for Appleton and Waupaca is the third week of October, while Oshkosh is a week later. Check it out!

Lastly, as you may have heard, Wisconsin has elections coming up this November! You can find what’s on your ballot, how to find out when and where to vote, and more at MyVote.wi.gov.
