19th Senate District Update: September 20, 2024

This Sunday marks the fall equinox. Even though it didn’t feel like it this week, we are returning to some of the great traditions of the season: Oktoberfest, turkey trots, and haunted houses. I am excited to celebrate Oktoberfest around our area this weekend and next!

This week we attended the Building for Kids Museum’s ribbon cutting of new exhibits and a welcome center. This regional center for kids is a great community asset and I am thrilled to see them continuing to grow.

We also attended the grand opening for Total Wine & More in Grand Chute! In recognition of the new store, Total Wine & More is donating 10% of all wine sales – with a minimum of $10,000 – during the grand opening weekend to a great local charitable non-profit, The Fox Valley Memory Project.

As fall begins, I also want to highlight the Fall Color Report from Travel Wisconsin. This interactive map helps identify when the leaves will be changing color throughout Wisconsin. The predicted peak color forecast for Appleton and Waupaca is the third week of October, while Oshkosh is a week later. Check it out!

Lastly, as you may have heard, Wisconsin has elections coming up this November! You can find what’s on your ballot, how to find out when and where to vote, and more at MyVote.wi.gov.
