Jesus IS the Reason for the Season!
Christmas is truly one of the best times of the year. Beautiful decorations, music that manages to put a little pep in your step, and people seem to just be a little more joyful than normal. There’s so much to look forward to and so much to give thanks for.
As I take in the wonders of the season, I can’t help but also think of the supernatural wonders that give Christmas its true meaning. I titled this e-update “Mary, Did You Know,” based on the song by the artist Pentatonix. I felt as if they asked questions that I, too, have found myself wondering. Some of the lyrics go,
That your baby boy
Would one day walk on water?
Mary did you know
That your baby boy
Would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know
That your baby boy
This child that you’ve delivered
Will soon deliver you.
Mary did you know
That your baby boy
Would give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know
Your baby boy
Would calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know
That your baby boy
Has walked where angels trod?
When your kiss your little baby
You’ve kissed the face of God”
Surely Mary had an idea that the baby she was carrying was a gift from God, but how could she have known what was to come? This Christmas, I implore you to think of the wonders of Jesus Christ. The miracles He performed, the kindness and forgiveness He offers every sinner, such as you and me, and the fact that His birth was only the beginning. He will soon come again and offer the gift of eternity to all believers, and if that doesn’t put you in the Christmas spirit, I’m not sure what else will! If you are interested in hearing the full lyrics, I have linked the song above.
I Wish You a Merry Christmas!
As the year comes to a close, I want to thank each and every one of you who have made this year so successful. It is an honor to serve the people of the 2nd Assembly District. With that being said, I wish you all a Merry Christmas!
