4th Assembly District Update: May 23, 2025

Thank you for being an informed constituent of Wisconsin’s 4th State Assembly District. In my electronic update you will find news about your community, the State Legislature, and everything in between.

My budget survey is open at the link below! The survey aims to give me a better understanding of the perspectives and opinions of my constituents on current issues in our state. I encourage you to provide honest and thoughtful responses as your input is highly valued, and I appreciate your willingness to participate and share your insights.

Hosting Listening Sessions

Thank you to everyone who took the time to attend one of my listening sessions on Thursday. (See the featured photo above.) It was great to get out in the district and meet so many constituents. Moreover, it was a pleasure to hear your thoughts and priorities on state spending and engage in rigorous discussions about the need for stable budgeting in Wisconsin.

If you were not able to join and would like to express your concerns, you can still submit comments through the survey link above. Representatives throughout the state have hosted listening sessions in their respective districts, and the Joint Finance Committee, in conjunction with the legislature, will move throughout May and June to put together a budget that prioritizes our state’s needs.

Recruiting Nuclear Power

Wisconsin was met with exciting news recently as preliminary steps were announced in what could be the restoration of nuclear generation at the Kewaunee Nuclear Plant.

This, along with the progress multiple nuclear bills I’ve authored have been making through the legislature, continues to send a clear signal to developers that Wisconsin is on the verge of becoming a renowned destination for these remarkable new technologies.

This week, I joined WBAY to discuss these events and the astonishing opportunity they pose for Wisconsin. Click the image below to watch:

Wisconsin State Rep. David Steffen was interviewed about recruiting nuclear power companies to the state.

Honoring the Fallen

On Memorial Day, we’ll take a moment to express our deep gratitude to the courageous individuals who lost their lives in military service while defending peace and freedom for our great country. We’ll dedicate the day to honoring their sacrifice and reminding all Americans of the significant cost of our cherished liberty.

On Monday, and every day, let us revere those who made the ultimate sacrifice in noble service to our country. I encourage you all to remember the selfless service members who have been laid to rest in flag-draped coffins and their families who have suffered such significant loss.
