4th Assembly District Update: May 31, 2024

Thank you for being an informed constituent of Wisconsin’s 4th State Assembly District. In my electronic update you will find news about your community, the State Legislature, and everything in between.

*Please note that beginning on June 1st, state law prohibits distribution of identical materials over 50 pieces until the completion of the 2024 election cycle. As such, this will be the final e-update I am sending until after the November election. Gone Fishin’

Don’t forget, this weekend is the Free Fishing Weekend in Wisconsin! Saturday and Sunday you can enjoy fishing without a fishing license, trout stamp or salmon stamp. I hope you’ll have time to take advantage of this fun opportunity. Good luck, anglers!

Session Highlight: K-12 Education

Last week I shared some of the public safety related legislative accomplishments this session. This week I’m highlighting K-12 education. Access to quality education is key to the success of our students both during school and after graduation. I am very proud to have supported and led on a number of proposals this session that assist our students and staff. K-12 education continues to be prioritized as a top funding category in our state budget. See the graphic above for more details!

Local Funding in Rural Communities

Infographic: Local Funding in Rural Communities in Wisconsin's 4th Assembly District.

In previous updates I’ve shared about this session’s historic reform to our state’s shared revenue formula. Updating this formula will have a tremendous impact on both our urban and rural communities. This increase in funding is key to supporting core local services. This week I’m highlighting some of the more rural communities in the area. Village of Lena received a 23.6% increase in funding, Town of Spruce 451.3%, Maple Valley 119.3%, Town of Little River 109.6%, Town of Stiles 108%, Town of Abrams 179.1%, and Town of Pensaukee 220.2%.
