Spring Road Elementary School Visit

This week, I had the pleasure of welcoming Spring Road Elementary’s 4th grade class to the State Capitol. As a former student of Spring Road Elementary, it was great to see the next generation visiting Madison and learning about our state government. I appreciated the opportunity to speak with the students, teachers, and parents who made the trip.

Wisconsin State Rep. Nate Gustafson welcomed Spring Road Elementary’s 4th grade class to the State Capitol.

#TBT to 20 years ago this week when I went on my 4th grade field trip to the State Capitol! Pretty cool that I’m now serving alongside my State Representative at the time, Representative Dean Kaufert, in the Wisconsin State Assembly!

Committee on Science, Technology, and AI

This week, the Committee on Science, Technology, and AI held a public hearing on two important pieces of legislation. Assembly Bill 33 addresses unlawful depictions involving nudity and outlines penalties for violations. Assembly Bill 204 proposes a video game production tax credit—an initiative aimed at boosting Wisconsin’s economy by attracting jobs and supporting our growing tech and creative sectors.

Following the hearing, we hosted an informational session featuring two expert speakers. The former head of IT at the Department of Revenue shared how he led the agency to become one of the top-performing IT departments in the state. We also heard from the Wisconsin Account Executive at Salesforce, who discussed the growing field of Agentic AI—an emerging form of artificial intelligence capable of independently making decisions and carrying out complex tasks with minimal human input.
