56th Assembly District Update: December 6, 2024

Remembering David Prosser

This week Wisconsin lost a long-time, dedicated public servant, former State Supreme Court Justice David Prosser (at right, above).  Justice Prosser served nearly 20 years in the state legislature, including two years as Assembly Speaker.  He went on to serve almost 18 years on our State Supreme Court.  Over the years, I became very close friends with David and his brother Hugh.  Our mutual love of Badger football and basketball let us share many fond moments together.   He gave his all to the State of Wisconsin and he will be sorely missed.

The Capitol Christmas Tree is decorated and lit!  This year’s tree is a 30-foot Balsam fir donated by Rick Burke from Rhinelander.  The tree is adorned with handmade ornaments donated by public and private school students from throughout Wisconsin.  This year the ornaments celebrate 125 years of Wisconsin’s State Parks.  It is lit by 2,000 multicolored LED lights.
