Inauguration Day
Monday I was sworn in to my seventh term in the State Assembly. After taking the oath of office I signed Wisconsin’s Oath of Office Book, which has been signed by all state representatives since 1877.
I continue to be honored and humbled to serve you in the Wisconsin Legislature.
Committee Assignments
Here are my committee assignments for the 2025-26 legislative session:
Colleges and Universities (Chairperson)
Agriculture
Campaigns and Elections
Financial Institutions
Housing and Real Estate (Vice Chairperson)
New Website
Along with the new legislative session my office has a new web site. Click on the image above or click here to visit my new web site.
Voter ID
This week I attended a press conference announcing that Legislative Republicans will pass a constitutional amendment requiring voter ID. The amendment will then go to the voters in the April 2025 spring election.
Law Enforcement Appreciation Day
Yesterday was National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Law Enforcement Officers of every rank and file have chosen a profession that puts their life on the line every day. Thank you for protecting and serving our communities!
Valentines for Veterans
I am encouraging everyone to consider participating in a program where Valentine’s Day cards are sent to military veterans living in Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs facilities.
This is a great chance to show your appreciation to the brave men and women who have sacrificed so much to ensure that our country remains the land of the free. I especially think this is a wonderful opportunity for students to work on their writing and to express their gratitude.
Please send all cards to:
Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs
Attn: Veteran Valentines
PO Box 7843
Madison, WI 53707-7843
Valentine’s Day cards should be mailed no later than January 31st to make certain they are received by veterans on February 14. Because of potential allergies and dietary restrictions, please do not include any candy or food with the cards.
Alice in Dairyland
If you are a female who has a passion for promoting agriculture in our great state, please consider applying to become the 78th Alice in Dairyland.  The application period is open through January 31 and preliminary interviews are on February 22.
