Memorial Day 2024

Over a million men and women have died in wartime throughout the span of our nation’s history. These numbers should truly humble us, as they represent people – individuals – who were brothers, husbands, mothers, sisters, and friends. People who were members of our communities.

I am thankful that we had the opportunity to gather together on Memorial Day. An opportunity to reconnect to the beginning of our nation’s many freedoms. A day to remember that our way of life has been shaped and made possible by those who have served – and by those who were lost.

There were many Memorial Day celebrations, parades, and ceremonies across the 5th district and I was honored to take part in a number of them. They are beautiful reminders of why we have so much to be thankful for.
