Bringing Home the Bacon
I’m absolutely thrilled that the 2025 NFL draft will be taking place in Green Bay! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase all that our community has to offer, and at the same time generate a massive economic boost for the city and state. With an estimated $94 million impact statewide, $20 million of which will directly benefit Green Bay, hosting the draft is a fantastic opportunity for Wisconsin. To help maximize the benefit of bringing this event to Green Bay, I’ve authored a budget motion with State Senator Rob Cowles to provide $2 million in one-time state support for this effort.
Wisconsin has a history of supporting tourism efforts that benefit the state. Considering the massive economic benefit that hosting an NFL draft would bring to small business owners and the state, a $45 return on every $1 invested is a pretty good deal!

Hearing from You
On Friday I had the pleasure of meeting with several of you from around the district to hear your thoughts on the state budget and many other matters of state government. Thank you to everyone who came and made my budget listening session a success. It is a pleasure to serve you in the state legislature, and I am always interested in hearing from you on these issues.
Preventing Unnecessary Costs and Delays in Road Construction
This week I testified in support of legislation I’ve been working on with State Senator Cory Tomczyk that will keep our state road construction projects on time and on budget. Assembly Bill 275 will prevent the unnecessary delays in highway construction that occur when a construction contractor runs into utility infrastructure that should have been relocated. Currently, contractors are increasing their costs to account for these delays on the front-end. This bill would prevent these situations from occurring by directing the Dept. of Transportation to compensate contractors when there is a delay that the utility company is responsible for, and in turn, the utilities will be responsible for repaying DOT. This streamlined process will allow contractors to keep their construction timelines intact and on budget.
This bill will now move on to the next stage in the legislative process, which will be a full vote in both the Assembly and the Senate transportation committees.
