Out and About
It’s been another busy week in my office, meeting with folks in the district as well as in Madison. One visit I’d like to highlight is my stop at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin, located in Green Bay. In 2024 this organization served 576 kids throughout Brown, Door, Shawano, Oconto and Kewaunee counties. The one-to-one mentoring that Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteers provide to children throughout our community has a lifelong, positive impact. Better grades, strong relationships and a reduced likelihood of using drugs, alcohol, or skipping school are just some of the benefits noted in kids who participate in the program. It was a pleasure to meet with some of the leaders at our Green Bay Big Brothers Big Sisters location and learn more about the impact the program is having in our community.
