Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”.
(Isaiah 9:6)
Merry Christmas, everyone! 2024 has been an exciting and fast-paced year, and I’m looking forward to taking on the new year back in session. Although things always seem to be go-go-go this time of year, it is important to slow down and remind ourselves as to why we celebrate Christmas. The music, food, and holiday cheer are always added bonuses, but the reason for the season will always be the birth of Jesus, our savior.
“And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.” (Luke 2:4-7)
In the midst of the chaos of the season, let us still ourselves to remember the goodness of God. He gave us his only son, who would later die for our sins. Because of the sacrifice on the cross, we get to have a personal and direct relationship with God. Now that has got to be the best Christmas gift any of us could ever receive!
To conclude, I would like to share the song “Hallelujah,” which in this version is sung by the Killard House School Choir. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. To listen, click here.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
