Back in Session
Hello! I hope you and your family enjoyed the New Year!
The Wisconsin State Legislature is back for the 2025-26 legislative session after a successful Inauguration Day at the Capitol. The New London High School Chamber Ensemble and Pastor Emily from the First Presbyterian Church of Winneconne and Weyauwega did a great job! They represented our district very well on such an important day.
The New London High School Chamber Ensemble provided music for the State Senate Inauguration and Pastor Emily offered the opening prayer. Thank you to everyone for making the trek to Madison!
After the swearing-in ceremony, the Senate voted to bring a question to the voters this spring. It would codify Wisconsin’s existing voter ID statute into the constitution – protecting it from activist courts or future legislatures. If it passes the assembly, you get to decide whether we keep voter ID to vote for the foreseeable future!
Over the last couple of weeks, I also had the pleasure of joining a local nurse for her pinning, met with several folks around the district, and also went out to DC Farm for Vets to support their rehabilitation and training efforts for our veterans.
Future Listening Sessions: I be holding listening sessions around the district starting in February. We will share those details as soon as we have them confirmed in this e-update, on our spring mailer, in the paper, and on social media.
It’s Radon Action Month! If you would like to find information about available test kits and more, visit the Department of Health Services website! Availability and price varies by county:
