House Agriculture Committee
This week, I had the privilege of beginning my work on the House Agriculture Committee, focusing on how we can support our American farmers and ranchers to ensure they have the stability needed to thrive in a challenging economic environment.
The conversation centered around the critical role of agriculture in national health and security, emphasizing the need for a robust farm economy to produce high-quality, nutritious food.
During the hearing, we discussed the importance of investing in specialty crops, with a particular interest in how transitioning to organic farming can impact farm operations. A witness at the hearing shared his experience in transitioning from conventional to organic farming, highlighting the uncertainties and planning differences this shift entails. His insights underscored the need for policies that address the unique challenges faced by farmers in today’s market, particularly in terms of income planning and business management when dealing with both conventional and organic produce.
I am committed to ensuring that our policies reflect the realities of modern farming, supporting our farmers in making America’s agriculture sector great again.

Midnight Rules Relief Act
In the final hours of Joe Biden’s presidency, he made the decision to impose even more burdens on small businesses across the country by enacting a series of last-minute regulations.
On Wednesday, I was proud to vote in favor of the Midnight Rules Relief Act. This important piece of legislation will ensure that Congress has the power to review and overturn excessive regulations that are rushed through in the final months of a presidential administration. By doing so, it strengthens the checks and balances in our government, ensuring that important decisions affecting our economy and businesses are made with the full oversight Congress.
This bill is crucial in protecting small businesses from unnecessary and harmful regulations, allowing them to thrive without the weight of last-minute mandates.
Ensuring Safety in Travel for Americans
On Wednesday, the House Subcommittee on Highways and Transit held a hearing entitled “America Builds: A review of Programs to Address Roadway Safety.
Every American deserves to be able to travel in safety and I look forward to working with my colleagues on this committee to make that a reality.
Office Blessing
I would like to thank Pastor Esget and Jack and Bonnie Munday for joining us yesterday to bless our office. Their presence meant so much as they took the time to pray for the success of the people in Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District. It was a powerful moment, and I am grateful for their support and prayers as we work toward achieving positive results for our community.
