Happy Easter!
“He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’”
Luke 24:6-7
Easter is a day that celebrates joy and hope, but it is also a reminder of God’s unfailing love. While we were yet sinners, He died on a cross for our sins. He then conquered death and rose again so that we may be granted eternal life. His arms are open wide to all who want to receive his love and mercy. Thank you, Jesus, for the ultimate sacrifice you made on the cross for us.
Testify in Ways and Means Committee (4/15)
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to testify in committee on AB 17, a bill I drafted and introduced.
AB 17 creates tax incentives (tax credit and capital gain deduction) for Wisconsin businesses that convert to an employee stock ownership business structure (ESOP).
Simply put, an ESOP is a program that allows employees to become partial owners of the company they work for by acquiring shares of the company’s stock.
ESOPs have been shown to keep jobs local, increase productivity, increase job security, improve employee retention, and much more. These are great reasons for Wisconsin to encourage and incentivize these structures to benefit our economy and communities.
This ESOP legislation has received a lot of bipartisan support, and I am optimistic to see it pass through committee and the Assembly floor with “yes” votes from both sides of the aisle.
Visit from St. Ignatius Catholic School
Unfortunately, I could not make the tour with St. Ignatius Catholic School this past Monday, but Rep. Goeben was able to represent both of us, and she had a great time!
