Congressman Tom Tiffany Will Speak in De Pere on Thursday, October 17

Northeast Wisconsin (N.E.W.) Patriots will host Congressman Tom Tiffany (R-7th District) on Thursday evening, October 17, in De Pere. The Congressman will be discussing refugee resettlement in Wisconsin and will also be providing some insights into our porous Southern U.S. border.

In February, Congressman Tiffany introduced legislation that would empower state and local governments to reject federal refugee resettlements. A year ago (in October 2023), he was questioning refugee resettlement efforts in Eau Claire and the broader Chippewa Valley, warning resettlement was taking place without community involvement or even the knowledge of local elected officials. Two years before that, in September 2021, he was urging resettlement organizations across Wisconsin to thoroughly vet Afghan refugees before resettling them in Wisconsin communities.

Congressman Tiffany will help the audience understand the extent to which refugee resettlement issues are affecting Green Bay, Appleton, and other communities in Northeast Wisconsin. The event is open to the public; not registration is required and there is no fee to attend. For guests wishing to partake of pizza and beverages, there will be a small charge.

The event will take place at Cedar Creek of De Pere Event Center, 1018 Cedar Street, De Pere. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. for those wishing to enjoy pizza, beverages, and networking. The program starts at 7:00 p.m. and will run until 8:30 p.m.
