President Trump Sworn in to Office!

It was an honor to be in attendance at the Capitol Rotunda to see President Trump be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States.

There is much work ahead to turn this country around and I am excited to work with President Trump and the House GOP to secure our border, lower inflation, and bring about peace and security around the world.

Securing the Southern Border

On Wednesday, the Laken Riley Act, which I was proud to co-sponsor, was passed by the House of Representatives once again after being passed by the Senate earlier this week.

This commonsense legislation ensures that if an illegal alien commits a theft crime, ICE must put a detainer on them.

I look forward to President Trump signing this into law and continuing our work to secure the border.

Extending the Trump Tax Cuts

On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to testify in front of the Ways and Means Committee to talk about the need to extend President Trump’s tax cuts before they expire this year. Specifically, we must ensure that we extend the 199A deduction that helps small businesses in our district.

If the 199A deduction were to expire, 52,230 Small Businesses in Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District would be hit with an unconscionable 43.4% tax rate.

On top of that, the average taxpayer in our district would see a 23% tax hike.

We cannot let that happen. I will do everything I can to ensure that we extend these tax cuts and put more of your hard- earned money back in your pocket!

Cutting Government Regulations

I am proud to announce that I am co-sponsoring Rep. Dave Taylor’s Regulation Decimation Act. This bill will reign in federal bureaucracy and require ten government regulations to be eliminated for every new one.

As a small business owner, I know exactly how burdensome overbearing government regulations can be. I am excited to co-sponsor this bill to help get the government out of the American people’s way and let businesses thrive!

Meeting with Director of Brown County Port & Resource Recovery Department

It was great to be back in the district today and meet with Dean Haen, Director of the Brown County Port & Resource Recovery, to discuss the importance of the Port of Green Bay and its economic impact on the region.

As a member of the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, I look forward to working closely with Dean and providing the Port of Green Bay with the resources it needs to continue being a vital component of our regional economy and leading indicator of economic health.
