It has been a fantastic week back home in the district. After several weeks in Washington, there’s nothing better than returning to Northeast Wisconsin.
During this past week, I’ve traveled across Wisconsin’s 8th District and had the chance to honor our fallen on Memorial Day, visit local small businesses like N.E.W. Plastics Corp. and Pagel’s Ponderosa Dairy, tour St. Vincent Hospital, and much more.
Spending time in the district is my favorite part of this job- it gives me the chance to connect with constituents and better understand how I can support you in Washington.
We have gotten a lot done over these first few months to lower prices, secure our border, and get our country back on a sound fiscal path. There is much left to do, but I can feel the optimism from each of you as I have traveled around the district and it has motivated me to keep up our work and get the job done.
Next week, I’ll return to work in Washington and look forward to continuing to serve the interests of the people of Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District.
Thanks for starting off your weekend with us! We hope you enjoy this week’s edition of the Wied Wire.

District Update
Honoring the Fallen: Memorial Day
On Memorial Day, I was honored to have the opportunity to speak at the Oconto Memorial Day Observance hosted by Oconto Veterans, VFW, American Legion, and AMVETS. Thank you to all of the men and women who heroically served our country and sacrificed their lives for our freedoms today.
Local Family Business: N.E.W. Plastics Corp
I recently had the opportunity to tour N.E.W. Plastics Corp in Luxemburg, a family-owned leader in sustainable plastics manufacturing since 1968. The team showcased their innovative work in custom blow molding and recycled plastic lumber, highlighting their commitment to environmental responsibility and high-quality production.
I was particularly impressed by their custom detailed quality procedures for each product in addition to their creation of eco-friendly products which support industries from packaging to construction. Serving a wide range of clients across the country, it was wonderful to see N.E.W. Plastics’ dedication to cutting-edge manufacturing and commitment to innovation. The dedication of their over 200 employees and their community initiatives truly reflect the spirit of Northeast Wisconsin. It was inspiring to see a local business driving both economic growth and sustainability.
Thank you to President Jeremy Roemer, Vice President Lynie Vincent and third generation members of the Vincent Family, Maddie and Will Vincent, for your hospitality!
Leaders in Agriculture: Pagel’s Ponderosa Dairy
I recently visited Pagel’s Ponderosa Dairy, LLC that is located in Kewaunee. During my visit, I was able to see the Pagel’s innovative approach to dairy farming and sustainability firsthand. The Pagel family, led by third-generation farmers, welcomed me for a tour of their impressive operation that altogether includes 13,000 cows across different locations and a farmstead cheese production facility. I was particularly struck by their commitment to renewable energy innovation, highlighted by their anaerobic digester system that converts manure into renewable natural gas. Their focus on animal welfare, public education through farm tours and agriculture boot camps, and high-quality cheese production truly reflects the hardworking spirit of our district. It was incredible to learn how their sustainable practices are setting a standard for the dairy industry nationwide.
Racing: Local 14-year-old racing in Talent Cup Championship
It was great to join local law enforcement motor units at Tytlers Cycle, a local business in De Pere, earlier this week for their DRAFFT night event. Tytlers Cycle is a motorcycle dealership who are currently leading the MotoAmerica Superbike Championship. One of the Tytlers Cycle riders is 14-year-old Hank Vossberg from De Pere who is riding in the Talent Cup Championship. Congratulations Hank on this incredible accomplishment and wishing you the best of luck!
Healthcare Heroes: St. Vincent Hospital
I enjoyed my recent visit to St. Vincent Hospital located in Green Bay where I learned about all the amazing work they do to serve our communities right here in Northeast Wisconsin. We are so lucky to have access to such high-quality healthcare here in the 8th District!
National Farmers Union
It was a pleasure to host WI-08 members of the National Farmers Union this month to discuss their priorities in the Farm Bill. I enjoyed the discussion about the unique needs in each of their farms and challenges they face. Thank you to all the farmers who joined the meeting and took time to travel into the office during the busy planting season.
