Every day since Donald Trump was re-elected I am struck by how different life would be with a different election result. I am overjoyed, relieved, grateful, and optimistic about the new administration just around the corner. The nightmare of a Harris-Walz presidency makes me shudder. It was way too close for comfort and should serve as a stern warning that keeps complacency at bay.
With Trump once again in the Oval Office we have the opportunity we hoped and prayed for, but it must be seized. It would be a serious mistake to ignore the lessons from history… opportunities can also be squandered. Trump intends to lead the charge in taking our country back but he cannot do it for us. Career politicians, the media and bureaucrats embedded deep within government agencies will be working hard to obstruct him at every turn. The work is just beginning, and it will require the engagement of every freedom loving American.
In Wisconsin, our plate is full. The fundamentals haven’t changed. Our election system flaws make it highly vulnerable to cheating and our state legislators, the Wisconsin Elections Commission, and the political parties have made it clear they like it that way. The self-proclaimed conservative radio talk show hosts, broadcasting out of WISN in Milwaukee, have turned a blind eye to this most significant threat to the will of the people while prattling on about matters that pale in significance. We will have to ratchet up our demands for election system reform until we become too loud and persistent to ignore.
We have to replace legislators who do not understand they work for the people. We have a critical April election, which is our opportunity to return the Supreme Court to a conservative majority by electing Brad Schimel. In the same election we must oust Jill Underly, Wisconsin State Superintendent of Public Instruction, a pathetic excuse for an educator or an administrator.
We have to beat back the sources of social decay that have brought our country to the brink of destruction. The nuclear family is vital to a functional society. There are only two genders and they can’t be changed. We are one nation under God. Truth and personal responsibility are fundamental to a righteous society. The American dream is accessible to everyone who is willing to work for it.
As we prepare to roll up our sleeves to tackle all that lies ahead, please indulge me in a moment of frivolous nonsense to celebrate our great victory. I call it the Hokey Pokey Redux.
The inauguration of Donald Trump on January 20, 2025 will be a great day.
