I’m Standing with Trump Every Step of the Way

The past 10 days were a wild ride. The stock market responded with volatility to Trump’s tariff strategy and shone an even brighter light on the sobering truth that there are a lot of deceitful people pretending to work for the American people. They are desperate to maintain the status quo and the power they have amassed and would rather see Americans badly hurt and our country weakened than see Donald Trump keep the promises he made.

The Circle of Deceit

An endless circle of deceit is being churned by a sinister group of co-conspirators every day. Here’s how it works. Vicious lies are spewed about anything Trump by the Democrats and others who are committed to seeing him fail. Trump’s aggressive, strategic approach to his second term has intensified their desperation to stop him. Nothing is off limits. The media generate their own lies and give broad coverage to those that come from other Trump haters. They work feverishly to turn public opinion against Trump’s agenda by peddling lies and instilling panic about harm that will come to everyday Americans if he is not stopped. Once they have sufficiently flooded the zone, the pollsters take it from there. They generate public opinion surveys and members of the media complete the circle by “reporting” results that provide the “evidence” the people are turning on Trump. It’s a constant barrage. The people are against tariffs. The people are against deportations. The people don’t want Musk involved in finding waste and fraud in government. The people disapprove of Trump on the economy. The people think prices should be down by now.

Hoping their vitriol for Trump will rub off on American voters, the media work hard to convince the public that Trump doesn’t care about the little guy. Though he is undoubtedly the hardest working President we’ve ever seen, CNN called his golf game the weekend after the worst market selloff “a bad look”. The same media had nothing to say when the New York Post reported that Joe Biden took 577 vacation days over 4 years, the most by far of any president in at least the last 50 years.

Nothing deserves our contempt more than the Democrats and the media planting the seeds a recession is likely because of Trump’s aggressive tariff strategy. They search far and wide for sources like Janet Yellen, Biden’s Treasury Secretary, who are predicting growing odds of recession. They ask stupid questions like “can you ‘guarantee’ there won’t be a recession?” and “How long will the turbulence last?” They press Trump for specifics on each next move he will make, exposing their total ignorance on negotiation strategy. He is forced over and over to school them on the importance of flexibility as he navigates the deal-making process. When Trump placed a 90 day hold on tariffs for all of the countries who lined up to negotiate in good faith, Jeff Zeleny of CNN called it “a big retreat for the President”.

The Democrats have been well aware of the threat of our trade imbalance with China for decades. In 1996 Nancy Pelosi gave an impassioned speech on the floor of the House of Representatives. She was adamant “I will not endorse the status quo”. Referring to trade with China, she went on to ask what it will take to say to the President “do something about this job loser”. Calling it “the cruelest hoax of all” she said the US had a $54 billion trade deficit with China. US tariffs were 20% while China tariffs were 35%. “Is that reciprocal?” she continued, “US-China trade is a job loser. China benefits with 10 million jobs while China imports support 170,000 US jobs.” She ended with “The Chinese want American products made in China”. “Slave labor, lack of access, and rip offs of American technology”.

It’s been nearly 30 years since that speech and career politicians and Presidents have done nothing to right this wrong. They have stood by while millions of Americans lost access to high paying jobs that kept them solidly in the middle class. Despite their failure, Democrats have nothing but criticism for Trump as he steps up on behalf of the American people.

The Democrats Have Nothing to Offer

Last week the Democratic National Committee (DNC) issued a press release to announce the Democrats are forming a “war room”. Ken Martin, the DNC Chair, explained. “We have one role, and that is to litigate the case against Donald Trump, Elon Musk and J.D. Vance.”

A new book entitled “Fight” was just published. It details what was perhaps the greatest political cover-up ever perpetuated on the American people. Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Congressional Democrats, the Democratic Party, the media, and many others all conspired to not only hide Joe Biden’s senility and incompetence during his presidency but, even more heinous, they tried to deceive the American people into electing him for a second term.

California Governor Gavin Newsom recently launched a podcast and is pretending to have reversed all of his policy positions that have been systematically destroying his state. He hopes the American people are foolish enough to elevate him to the Presidency.

Last Thursday the House Republicans came together to pass the Senate Budget Bill, the first step in hammering out the details of budget reconciliation over the coming months. They had to make a commitment to get $1.5 trillion in spending cuts as a minimum in order to get this passed. They had no help from the Democrats who wasted no time in telling the public that the Republicans are going to cut Medicaid, despite Speaker Mike Johnson stating unequivocally that will not happen.

On Friday, some Democrats were making it clear that they have decided “chaos” will be their best messaging weapon to use against Trump. They have nothing to offer.

What Everyday Americans Are Saying

The liberal media are having a hard time finding Americans who are turning on Trump.

Last Wednesday Dana Bash of CNN was interviewing a man who had been held hostage by Hamas for 454 days. When he told her he is “profoundly thankful to President Trump” for his role in securing his release, Bash could not hide her disappointment.

Stew Leonard, CEO of Stew Leonard Groceries said during an interview that his company will be shifting to more American grown products. As examples, he said they are shifting from Australian raised lamb to American lamb (an Easter favorite) and from French Champagne to a Napa Valley offering.

A cattle rancher and a steel company CEO from different parts of the country each expressed concern about how painful things may get but reaffirmed how necessary it is to address the trade imbalance.

Tradesmen and women across the country are cheering Trump on.

Last week the President of the American Soybean Growers Association expressed the concern of his members over the price soybeans will bring in the fall. 50% of their harvest is exported to China. Despite efforts by a newscaster to get him to break ranks with Trump, all he would say is he is counting on Trump to understand what is at stake for his members.

Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, a large media company with a huge audience often referred to as “barstool conservatism” said in an interview he is uncomfortable but believes what Trump is doing must be done. When asked if all the young men in his audience who voted for Trump are turning away from him, his answer was an unhesitating “no”.

Batya Unger-Sargon is a self-described MAGA leftist. Having been a liberal all her life, she is now an unwavering Trump supporter. She is a journalist with a long list of publications and is currently the Opinion Editor of Newsweek. Last week, describing what she says are the sentiments of “thousands” of people she is hearing from, she said, “So many people who have so little are willing to sacrifice so much for the future of our country while people who will never not be rich are braying about losing money.” In perhaps the most touching expression of American support for Trump, Unger-Sargon said she has heard from many that they never thought they would see a president choose Main Street over Wall Street.

The Voice of Steady, Reasoned Leadership

I had never heard of Scott Bessent until Trump named him Treasury Secretary. I have since learned that he is one of the most knowledgeable and highly respected people in the world of finance. He conveys steady, reasoned leadership that serves as a calming influence amidst all the attempts to induce panic by those who have never put the welfare of the American people first. On Wednesday morning before Trump announced his decision to put a 90-day hold on most tariffs, Bessent responded to questions about economic turmoil and the possibility of recession. He said clearly and simply: The Trump Administration is “reprivatizing” the economy. 80% of economic growth in recent years has been in the government or what he called the “government adjacent” industries of health care and education. He went on to say manufacturing has been in recession for a long time. He stressed the importance of remembering this is a comprehensive strategy in response to a mandate from the American people. It started with border control and is now focused on tariffs. Lower taxes and deregulation are coming. Rooting out waste and fraud in government is well underway. Sound advice for jittery Americans.

Donald Trump has nerves of steel. Standing in front of the White House on Wednesday he said, “I am the only President who would do this.” He was right. His enemies will not ease up on the efforts to shift the direction of the political winds against him, but it won’t matter. Trump doesn’t make decisions based on which way the political winds are blowing. He understands there can be no disruptive change without disruption. I’m standing with Trump every step of the way. I hope you are too.
