Melissa Niffenegger is a courageous conservative member of the De Pere School Board. She’s also a wife, a mother of two, and a local coffee shop owner.

As a school board member, Niffenegger has taken a stand against the radical left on gender identity, curriculum transparency, and taxing and spending. For this she is under attack by the “progressive” majority on the school board and by the administration.  Bill Savage of the Wisconsin Conservative Digest says, “her detractors are bullying her, trying to silence her and keep debate on her ideas off the agenda.”

Niffenegger has criticized the De Pere schools’ administration for failing to comply with Wisconsin’s Act 20, a literacy bill that passed in 2022 with bi-partisan support. She filed a complaint with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction — a move that has the administration and liberal board members none too happy.

Niffenegger owns Tazza Coffee Shop, with locations in De Pere and Ashwaubenon. The De Pere location has been targeted by the progressive liberals for boycott, and that effort is having a negative effect on the business, placing it in jeopardy. Savage considers this “nothing short of an intimidation effort to get her to back off or resign from the board.”

Many voters and taxpayers in the De Pere area support the positions Niffenegger takes on the school board … but too many of those supporters don’t know about her coffee shop or even that this intimidation campaign is happening.

If you live in the Fox Cities, you live close enough to a Tazza location to support the business! Please consider visiting soon.
