The Corrupt American Media has Crafted Deceit into an Artform

The corruption of the American media is in full view every day. Though the public has responded to the political bias and dishonesty that permeate their “reporting” by not believing a word they say, members of the media keep finding new ways to earn our contempt by sinking even lower.

Last week, Jake Tapper from CNN and Alex Thompson from Axios released their new book entitled “Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-up and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again.” The book details, through extensive interviews of Biden staffers, Democrats and members of the media, how Biden was physically and cognitively in steep decline for years and the extremes his protectors went to in trying to withhold this from the American public. They seem oblivious to the fact that the cover-up failed miserably because, as Mark Halperin one of the few journalists who spoke honestly about Biden’s decline put it, anyone who had access to C-Span could see it with their own eyes.

Members of the media are scrambling like rats on a sinking ship to deny their role in the cover-up, though archived videos and publications documenting their complicity don’t lie. Jake Tapper is one of the biggest frauds, hoping to make millions off this tell-all while his own defense of Biden’s cognitive ability was as heinous as anyone’s. Particularly memorable was his interview of Lara Trump, Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, on CNN’s State of the Union during which he responded aggressively to her assertion that Biden was cognitively impaired by accusing her of ridiculing Biden because he stutters. As Tapper makes the rounds to any show that will have him trying to sell his book, he claims with a straight face he did not see Biden’s decline over the years it was in public view. Tapper is a shameless liar.

The Biden drama escalated after the release of the “Original Sin”. Nearly simultaneously (some say to deflect from the book’s release), the Biden camp chose to announce that Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive prostate cancer that has spread to his bones. They claimed the diagnosis had just been made within days of the announcement, likely yet another lie. Dr. Zeke Emanuel, an oncologist, avid Biden supporter, and brother of Raum Emanuel, former Obama Chief of Staff, gave an extensive interview on MSNBC. He explained that Biden has had this cancer for years; possibly a decade. He claimed no physician would dispute this due to the “score” of 9 out of 10 that describes its aggressiveness and the fact it has spread to his bones. Multiple cancer specialists were interviewed on various news broadcasts about the revelation. Some went so far as to speculate Biden may have even been treated for the cancer while President. A side effect of treatment, we were told, can be cognitive impairment. Many medical professionals called upon for their opinions agreed that, as Biden underwent medical evaluation for his increasing frailty and cognitive lapses, the cancer would have been hard to miss.

Here in Wisconsin, The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (JS) is a stiff competitor to the national media when it comes to deceiving the public. JS reporting on the Republican Party of Wisconsin’s statewide convention in Rothschild last weekend was a classic version of what the public has come to expect from a paper so overtly politically biased and lacking journalistic integrity that its most useful purpose is wrapping the garbage. The many ways the news media lie to the public have been mastered by the JS reporters. What they choose to cover; the headlines that are crafted; leaving out important context that changes meaning; and using partial quotes that change the meaning of what was said are all techniques employed to deceptively shape the understanding and response of the readers.

More than 500 members of the Republican Party of Wisconsin attended the annual convention, which was a 2-day meeting that included workshops on a variety of topics, committee reports, an analysis from Senator Ron Johnson of the state of the “big beautiful bill”, remarks from Republican members of the Wisconsin Congressional delegation, a discussion from state legislative leaders on the status of the state budget and votes on resolutions proposed to the members by the Resolutions Committee.

The JS, often acting as a public relations arm of the Democratic party, did what it could to keep abortion in the spotlight and create the impression it was a major agenda item at the Republican convention with the headline, “Wisconsin Republican convention delegates back resolution to enforce strict 1849 abortion law”.

There were 26 resolutions considered and voted on by the members at the convention. One of the 26 resolutions addressed the “sanctity of human life”. It was the longest, most detailed resolution encompassing a wide range of concerns including not only abortion but also assisted suicide and euthanasia. Sanctity of life is not a new issue for the Republican Party and abortion is one of the most divisive issues in the public discourse across all political persuasions. Those who understand killing the unborn is wrong have differing opinions about how this should be addressed in law. The delegation did not engage in this discussion or debate. This resolution reaffirming the sanctity of life was treated by the JS as if it was a major focal point of the convention. They made this choice because they believe being opposed to abortion hurts the Party in elections. The JS selectively did not mention that the 1849 law remains on the books because, even though Democrats controlled both houses of the state Legislature from 1969 until 1995 and the governorship for 12 of those years, they let the1849 law stand. They also failed to report that abortion is permitted in Wisconsin up to 20 weeks gestation due to a circuit court interpretation of the 1849 law in 2023. The Wisconsin Supreme Court will render an opinion on this soon.

Charlie Sykes hosted a radio talk show in Milwaukee from 1993 until he left the Milwaukee market in 2016 with his tail between his legs after his audience rejected his pompous, never-Trump rhetoric. He has been in a downward spiral ever since frequently appearing on liberally extreme MSNBC posing as a conservative voice and endorsing Kamala Harris for President in 2024. Sykes wasted no time in linking the JS article about the 1849 abortion law to his “X” post on the Wisconsin Republican Convention. Just one more “journalist” who makes a mockery of journalistic ethics.

7 of the 26 resolutions taken to the floor of the convention dealt with election integrity. The real story that has been begging for authentic investigative journalism for many months prior to this convention is the unverifiability of Wisconsin elections. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has been one of the many media organizations who have turned a blind eye to the flaws in the election system that make cheating not only a possibility, but a probability, threatening freedom by thwarting the will of the people. They choose to label citizens concerned with election integrity “election deniers” rather than pursue the truth about why the state legislators and the Wisconsin Elections Commission insist on maintaining more than 4 million names of ineligible voters on the Registered Voter List. Passing the resolution to call on the legislators to require the Registered Voter List be restricted to only the names of currently-eligible voters is the first time the Republican Party of Wisconsin has publicly acknowledged this problem exists. Newsworthy.

The American people are turning their backs on the untrustworthy American media. Karoline Leavitt, President Trump’s Press Secretary, has broken the stranglehold of the so-called legacy media on White House Briefings by introducing a “new media seat” to accommodate alternate media voices that are filling the void created by media dishonesty. In Wisconsin, the public is voting with their wallets. In 2023, Bruce Murphy of the publication Urban Milwaukee reported that in the past 20 years the JS lost 81% of its readers, including both print and digital formats. Greg Borowski, Executive Editor of the JS, declined comment. The corrupt American media continues its rapid descent into irrelevance. They have crafted deceit into an artform.
