Wisconsin Supreme Court Candidate to Speak in Appleton on Monday, May 6

Brad Schimel, candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, will be the featured speaker at Fox Valley Initiative’s Monday, May 6 meeting.

The 2025 Wisconsin Supreme Court election will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Schimel is running to replace Justice Ann Walsh Bradley, who announced on April 11 that she will not be seeking re-election when her term ends in 2025. Schimel is currently the only declared candidate in the race.

Schimel is a Wisconsin native with a law degree from University of Wisconsin Law School. He served as an assistant district attorney until elected Waukesha District Attorney in 2006. He was twice re-elected to that position. He served as Wisconsin Attorney General from 2015-2019; he lost his re-election bid to Josh Kaul by a one percentage point margin. He currently serves as judge of the Wisconsin Circuit Court for the Waukesha Circuit, Branch 6.

Schimel’s priorities in his race for the State Supreme Court, as outlined on his website, are straightforward and ought to be non-controversial:

  • Upholding Our Wisconsin Values
  • Applying the Law as Written
  • Defending the Constitution
  • Upholding the Rule of Law
  • Backing the Badge
  • Keeping Families Safe and Criminals Behind Bars

The May 6 meeting is open to the public, free of charge, and advance registration is not required. It will take place at FreedomProject Academy, 750 North Hickory Farm Lane, Appleton. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., the program begins at 6:30 p.m.
