Welcome back! This week we are going to finish touching on legislation from session on January 25th.
AB 35 (SB 34) would change the language of the statute to “the full weekend prior to the third Monday in January” to align with when we recognize MLK Day.
AB 124 adds accredited members of the Zoological Association of America (ZAA), a prominent accrediting organization in the United States, to the definition of a public zoo in Wisconsin.
AB 130 raises the cap on the supplemental snowmobile trail aid for local governments from 3x the per-mile maximum to 5x the per-mile maximum.
AB 169 (SB 163) makes a clarification change to the statutory requirements of the Wisconsin Agricultural Education and Workforce Development Council’s membership due to the restructuring.
AB 222 (SB 222) requires the Division of Emergency Management (DEM) in the Department of Military Affairs to create and administer a pre-disaster flood resilience grant program.
AB 253 (SB 255) eliminates the requirement that wetlands that benefit from the in lieu fee subprogram be open for public access.
AB 291 eliminates Wisconsin’s mandatory 6-month waiting period after a finalized divorce before an individual is allowed to marry again.
AB 230 would strengthen and clarify the ability of family-owned RV dealerships to pass their businesses on to family members, as auto dealers have long been able to do.
AB 414 (SB 408) makes updates to Wisconsin’s “50-piece rule” to ensure that constituents remain properly informed during times of emergency as well as during the busy final weeks of the legislative session.
AB 329 (SB 321) prohibits the possession, manufacturing, and distribution of child sex dolls.
AB 354 (SB 355) allows utilities to use green lights on their vehicles.
AB 440 (SB 431) authorizes the Department of Transportation (DOT) to issue permits for the transportation of fluid milk products in vehicle combinations that exceed general highway weight limitations.
AB 480 ensures that those who claim the farmland preservation tax credit are farming the land and preserving our precious resources for the next generation.
AB 559 (SB 531) prohibits caller identification (ID) spoofing.
AB 625 addresses fraud in the wholesale vehicle dealer license in Wisconsin.
AB 617 (SB 668), known as the “Money Transmission Modernization Act” (MTMA), is to streamline the Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) licensing administration of eight licensee groups.
AB 890 would update Wisconsin’s engine for venture funding, the Badger Fund of Funds.

I had a great time this past weekend supporting the Two Rivers Historical Society! I stopped by the Washington House and picked up a record celebrating the 1978 Centennial of the city.
In-District Events
Sunday, February 25th, will be the 72nd Annual Winter Festival at the De Pere Sportsman’s Club (3623 Club Drive, De Pere) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday, March 9th, will be the Two Rivers Fire Department Trap Shoot at the West Shore Sportsman Club (11267 Lakeshore Road, Two Rivers) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday, March 10th, will be the 5th Annual Pancake Breakfast at the Menchalville Fire Department (15331 County Road K, Menchalville) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
