While We Were Sleeping…

Did you know?…

Madison and Milwaukee are pursuing lawsuits against automakers Kia and Hyundai because their cars are the most frequently stolen in those cities.  The liberal leaders of those cities blame the manufacturers for not having anti-theft technology in their cars.  They believe the manufacturers are more culpable than the criminals.

Did you know?…

On March 9, liberal Wisconsin lawmakers introduced the “Economic Justice Bill of Rights.”  According to them, the budget just proposed by Tony Evers supports their bill’s priorities.

Their proposal calls for the following 10 rights:

  • Dignity at work and a living wage
  • Adequate funding for public schools and child care
  • Protecting public and private unions and collective bargaining
  • Affordable and accessible health care
  • A healthy environment
  • Decent and sustainable infrastructure
  • Safe and affordable housing and broadband
  • Equitable access to capital
  • Restorative justice
  • Participatory civic life and self-determination

Did you know?…

Last September, Madison launched the Madison Forward Fund, which is a guaranteed income pilot for 154 households.  Each household in the pilot gets $500 per month with no strings attached and no work requirement.  This is part of the Mayors for a Guaranteed Income group comprised of 100 mayors across the country and is promoted as “a tool supporting gender and racial equity.”  It is intended to supplement, not replace, existing safety nets.

Program manager, Blake Roberts Crall, says there are 27,000 households in Madison who meet the criteria for this pilot and the end goal is not to use local taxpayer money, but to have the federal government fund universal income across the country.

Recent reporting on the pilot’s early months showcased one of the participants, Mai Kaw Xiong, a 33-year-old woman who lives with her boyfriend with whom she has a 1-year-old child.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in media design but hasn’t worked in the field since being injured in a hit and run accident left her with “chronic physical and mental trauma.”

She became a massage therapist but left her job to have a baby.  She says, “financial crisis is my biggest trauma trigger”.  Her boyfriend works at a low paying job.

The liberals pushing universal income are thrilled with how the program is progressing.  Program manager Crall says, “We have to stop attaching dignity to work and instead attach it to our personhood.”

Dane County Executive Joe Parisi just signed on as a founding member of a group called Counties for a Guaranteed Income.

Liberal elected officials in Wisconsin are working hard to catch up to some of the most liberal cities in the country.  Chicago has 5,000 guaranteed income recipients of $500 a month, Los Angeles has 1,000 recipients of $1,000 a month, and San Francisco is in the process of seriously evaluating a range of slavery reparations options including payments of $5 million to every eligible Black adult, the elimination of personal debt and tax burdens, guaranteed annual incomes of at least $97,000 for 250 years and homes in San Francisco for just $1 a family.

Liberal extremists are waging war on our freedom.  Dependence on the government, a key component of the liberal agenda, is a lethal weapon in this war.  Self-sufficiency is fundamental to living free and personal responsibility for life choices is integral to a functional society.

There is no greater bigotry than condemning people to a life of victimhood and dependence on the premise they are not as capable as anyone else of making their way in the world.

Many will be surprised to learn of the initiatives spotlighted in this Blast.  Too many of us are not paying attention while the liberal agenda is advanced right under our noses.  Make no mistake.  An ideology that promotes dependence on government, shuns personal responsibility, and doesn’t recognize that all government money comes from hard-working, tax-paying American citizens, is incompatible with liberty.  If we allow our freedom to be stolen from us, it will surely have happened while we were sleeping.

VOTE DANIEL KELLY ON APRIL 4

In Wisconsin, the April 4 Supreme Court election is high stakes. It is a battle between an activist judge, Janet Protasiewicz, who will legislate from the bench and Daniel Kelly, a constitutionalist who will protect our freedom.  The conservative majority is on the line. Millions of dollars are pouring into our state from outsiders who want to dictate how we live.  Do not delay. Engage with your family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and co-workers.  Lock in your vote as soon as early voting opens.  Our outrage at the abuses of this government must fuel our unwavering resolve.
