This week, the Senate was back in session to vote on bills recently vetoed by the Governor. One of these bills, the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Bill, which I co-authored, was one of the bills that was supported by two-thirds of the Senate.
This is an important bill because it helps provide greater access to affordable healthcare. This is especially true in rural and urban areas, where access to health care can be difficult.
Now that the Senate has successfully overridden the veto, it must now pass the Assembly with the same two-thirds margin in order to become law. If this cannot be done this year, then I’m committed to reintroducing this bill as many times as it takes to get us the affordable health care we all deserve.
I was also happy to meet with the Wyldewood Christian School. They are a great group of young people that have bright futures! I also enjoyed attending the Hmong Day at the Capitol celebration this week.
My staff and I were also happy to meet with:
- Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources, Inc.
- Waushara County Crime Stoppers
Next week, I look forward to many more meetings in our area!
