19th Senate District Update: December 13, 2024

Hello! This week, my staff and I were happy to meet with some incredible folks around the district and at the Capitol in Madison. The Universities and Revenue Committee held an informational hearing this week to discuss higher education’s impact on workforce development and emerging fields of study available to students.

I met with UW-Green Bay Chancellor Michael Alexander to discuss their efforts to support the ongoing needs of Northeast Wisconsin. We talked about how the university is encouraging students to meet the needs of our changing region. I also had a productive meeting with local village and town leaders to discuss the upcoming state budget season.

Road Construction Alert: I want to briefly highlight the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s proposal for improvements at the WIS 47 and County A intersections in Outagamie County. Check it out!

I also want to highlight a resource the University of Wisconsin Law School’s Consumer Law Clinic is offering called the Garnishment Relief Project. This project offers free legal assistance to those navigating the wage garnishment process. Click the link above to learn more.

My staff and I were also able to meet with folks from:

  • Village of Winneconne
  • Village of Fox Crossing
  • Wisconsin Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Association
  • University of Wisconsin-Green Bay
  • Wisconsin Assisted Living Association
  • Wisconsin Property Taxpayers, Inc.

  • Wisconsin Association for Hospice and Palliative Care
  • Wisconsin Association for Home Health Care, Inc.
