ATW Tour

Wisconsin Congressman Tony Wied toured the Appleton Airport.Yesterday, I was fortunate to meet with Abe Weber, the Appleton International Airport (ATW) Director, and Scott Volberding, ATW Assistant Airport Director, to discuss the daily operations of the Airport and tour the construction of their new expanded concourse.

The new terminal will include 10 new gates and is expected to open in April 2025! Abe and Scott also shared how the Appleton Airport has nearly doubled in size over the past decade and how they continue to expand their services to reach a greater amount of people throughout Northeast Wisconsin.

Appleton Airport has a $700 million impact on the local economy. As the Transportation and Infrastructure Vice Chairman on the Subcommittee on Aviation, I look forward to working together on issues in the future.

BenShot!

Wisconsin Congressman Tony Wied toured the BenShot facility, which is a family-owned business located in Appleton. This week, I toured the BenShot facility, which is a family-owned business located in Appleton. Bruce and Ben, father and son, founded the company in 2015.

We toured the facility with Ben and spoke with their dedicated staff about the company’s continued growth as well as the work that goes into designing and creating glassware that is handmade in the USA. BenShot also holds veteran events throughout the year at their Appleton location where veterans from the community can build relationships, tour the facility, and make their own BenShot glassware.

As I’ve always said, small businesses and entrepreneurs are the backbone of Wisconsin’s economy!
