The 7-Step Plan for Wisconsin’s Next Governor

As of December 18, 2025, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has sued 22 states for refusing to turn over their voter registration lists. The DOJ is trying to verify that states are maintaining the lists properly to ensure the will of voters is validated through our elections. Wisconsin is among the states being sued for not turning over the voter registration list as required by law.

On Wisconsin Outdoors (OWO) has been reporting for years that the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) maintains a voter registration list that includes more than 8.2 million total names, in a state with only 4.6 million voting-aged citizens. When the DOJ inspects Wisconsin’s list it will find more than 4 million ineligible names on it.

The 4 million ineligible names is what the WEC is trying to hide, but only one of the reasons Wisconsin’s elections are unverifiable. The other reasons are outlined in Restoring Verifiable Elections: The winning priority for Wisconsin’s next governor.

Restoring Verifiable Elections is a 7-step plan that will restore verifiability to Wisconsin’s elections by ensuring that every vote counted is tied to an eligible voter. The plan has been viewed by the current Republican candidates for governor, Josh Schoemann and Tom Tiffany.

The factual information within it can be used to ask Schoemann and Tiffany about their own plans for restoring verifiability to Wisconsin’s elections.
