In 2005 the Carter-Baker Commission in part determined that “the electoral system cannot inspire public confidence if no safeguards exist to deter or detect fraud or to confirm the identity of voters.” Well, isn’t that just flippin’ brilliant? But in truth it makes a whole lot more sense than anything that has come out of a “commission” since 2005. More importantly, it provides a path to “sell” election reform “to low-information voters” and their no-information representatives and senators.
For the last 10 years (at least) there has been concern about elections being stolen. Some people have been outraged at the thought that their vote was stolen or disenfranchised and have screamed about it at the top of their lungs. Some have provided evidence — tons of it — to “authorities.” Detailed maps of how election stealing works and plans showing how fraud can be mitigated have been publicly submitted. Concerned citizens have filed lawsuits against various State and Federal bodies when those “bodies” mysteriously fail to act.
And still no one has fixed anything. Sissified (or corrupt) courts have REFUSED to hear any cases that have referenced election stealing thereby effectively burying any evidence no matter how damning it is. State “commissions” and Secretaries of State, those who are supposed to protect election integrity, throw up rules or regulations or whatever kind of crap they can find to cover up their own incompetence or complicity. Both the Democrat and Republican media do what they are told to do and tell us that there is nothing to see here. Is it any wonder that we STILL have crooked elections?
For years now there have been screams about election stealing. There have been obvious, panty-waisted victims who said nothing after spending $Millions and being made a fool of. Both solid and statistical evidence tells us that something is wrong. Yet the overall public remains oblivious. Is it the message, or is it how the message is presented?
Go back to the top of this page. Re-read the quote. Perhaps these are the key words “cannot inspire public confidence if no safeguards exist.” Is this the selling point, the pathway that those who demand honest elections need to move public opinion? It all comes down to selling. If you talk about “confidence” and “safeguards,” no “evidence” is needed. If you don’t need evidence, its credibility cannot be questioned, and the swamp has nothing to hold on to. Even the most low-information voter can understand the words “public confidence” and “safeguards.” Who is not for inspiring public confidence and safeguards, when it comes to maintaining our election system and our Democracy?
Wouldn’t it be ironic that a “commission,” the main tool of all cover-ups, actually gave us the path to fix this mess?
