4th Assembly District Update: May 10, 2024

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms and mother figures! I hope you feel extra celebrated and cherished this Mother’s Day weekend!

Thank You, Oconto Falls!

Wisconsin State Rep. David Steffen held a listening session in Oconto Falls.

A big thank you to everyone who took the time to come out to my listening session this week in Oconto Falls. It was a great discussion all around–we were able to cover a wide range of topics such as education, taxes, local funding, transportation and veterans issues. Oconto Falls is one of the communities that the 4th Assembly District gained after the legislative redistricting. I can’t express how much I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the good folks who live in the Oconto Falls area. This listening session was a great opportunity for me to learn about the top issues for members of this community–this input directs my decision making as a State Representative and I appreciate it so much!

Wisconsin State Rep. David Steffen co-authored the shared revenue measure, which provided a historic $275M in additional state revenue to our local communities.

Updating our state’s shared revenue formula was a major legislative accomplishment this session. I was very proud to co-author this bill, which provided a historic $275M in additional state revenue to our local communities. This funding and formula update created a more sustainable approach for funding vital local services. In the coming weeks I will highlight how this reform impacted communities in our area. First up: Village of Howard received a 93% increase in funding, Village of Suamico received a 320% increase and the Town of Little Suamico received a 309% increase in funding.
