In case you missed it, last week legislative leaders and the Governor came to an agreement on the 2025-2027 State Budget delivering big wins for the 56th District and all of Wisconsin.  You can read my full statement on the budget here.
This budget cuts taxes by $1.5 billion, including eliminating the middle tax bracket to save middle-class families money, providing tax relief for seniors to keep more of their hard-earned retirement savings, and removing the sales tax on electricity and natural gas—a reform I’ve championed through Assembly Bill 69 to ease burdens on low-income households. As Colleges and Universities Committee Chairman, I’m proud of the UW reforms we secured: a position cap to curb administrative costs, streamlined credit transfers to help students graduate faster, and a minimum teaching requirement for faculty to prioritize education. These changes save taxpayers money, strengthen our universities, and keep Wisconsin moving forward.
