Budget Update
On Tuesday Assembly Republicans held a press conference to lay out progress that’s been made on the budget so far. Assembly Republicans have made middle class tax relief and fiscal responsibility the priorities in this budget. The current proposal has $1.3 Billion in tax relief aimed at seniors and expanding the middle tax bracket. The budget also has common sense investments in K12, transportation, and public safety. As we indicated during the press conference, we are committed to passing the budget on time.

Assembly Supports Nuclear Energy And Fusion

Also on Tuesday, the State Assembly passed three bills designed to make Wisconsin a national leader in nuclear power and fusion energy. Assembly Joint Resolution 6, Senate Joint Resolution 7, and Assembly Bill 108, declare that nuclear power and fusion energy are classified as clean energy, and will streamline the permitting process to bring new facilities on line. The University of Wisconsin Madison is a leader in developing fusion energy, and is currently developing revolutionary technology that could change power generation for years to come. Wisconsin will also be the home for major expansions of AI Technology that will require a significant increase in electricity. Nuclear and fusion energy are clean, efficient, and necessary to power our future, I’m proud to support this massive step forward for our state.
