Capitol Press Conference
On Tuesday I was happy to participate in a press conference about education priorities for the new session. For the past several months I’ve been working with stake holders from the UW System, Technical College System, Department of Public Instruction, students, parents, and local superintendents on the issue of dual enrollment. Dual Enrollment is where a high school student can earn college credits before they graduate high school. Earning these credits give students a real leg up entering college, and save them money in the long run. But here’s the thing: Wisconsin’s dual enrollment system is complex, lacks clear direction, and has regulations that sometimes hold us back. That’s why we’re working together to fix it! I’ll be introducing legislation very soon, and we already have a lot of support. Watch the press conference Here.

Capitol Meeting

On Tuesday Anna Knocke and Cori Lamont from the Wisconsin Realtor’s Association stopped by my office. We discussed the housing shortage and ways we could continue to address it. In 2023 we passed Wisconsin Act 15 which addressed Wisconsin’s housing shortage, on Tuesday we discussed new legislation to go further. Thank you to Anna and Cori for stopping by!

I-41 Update

I’m thrilled to share some great news about the I-41 Project, folks! We’re making real progress for drivers in our area. I’m happy to report that the southbound I-41 off-ramp to WIS 96 in Grand Chute is open again, making your travels smoother. Plus, the southbound I-41 on-ramp from Ballard Road in Appleton is now open too! This coming Monday the WIS 15/Northland Avenue Interchange will open dependent on the weather. The northbound ramps at Ballard Road should be ready by mid-September, so hang tight. These updates are all about keeping our community connected and moving forward.
