Absentee Ballot Tracking Bill Clears Assembly
This week, the Assembly passed Assembly Bill 38. This bill gives absentee voters the ability to opt in to receive text message alerts regarding the status of their ballot. Voters who choose to utilize this service will receive a text message letting them know when their absentee application has been received by their clerk as well as when their actual absentee ballot has been received by their clerk.
As more and more Wisconsinites utilize absentee voting, it’s important that we are taking advantage of today’s technology so that voter’s have confidence in knowing that their ballot has reached its proper destination.

Bill Requiring Swift Processing of Sexual Assault Kits Heads to the Governor
Another bill I have been hard at work on moved ahead during this week’s session activities. AB 36 is now on the Governor’s desk awaiting his signature–the final step in turning this victims’ rights legislation into law.
