On Monday, August 31, Northeast Wisconsin (N.E.W.) Patriots will be hosting a free Movie Night at the De Pere Cinema, 417 George Street, De Pere. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., and the program starts at 6:30 p.m.
The group will be showing A Great Awakening, released in 2026 to honor the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
Set in the decades preceding the signing of the Declaration, A Great Awakening follows the long friendship between Benjamin Franklin and George Whitefield. It traces Whitefield’s impact during the Great Awakening religious movement.
Whitefield preached in Philadelphia, and Franklin published many of his sermons. Whitefield appealed to Franklin to trust in Jesus Christ for salvation. Did Whitefield succeed in converting Franklin, a deist, to Christianity? Join us on August 31 and judge for yourself!
